MaurícioMendonça Godoy is a man who knows the ins and outs of doing business in Brazil. He currently works with Estaleiros do Brasil as its chief executive officer and has been able to maintain a successful career because of his networking abilities. Godoy continues to standout in his field because of his ethical behavior and integrity, and he has been able to keep up with an ever-changing industry because of his willingness to continue to learn new skills. He has noticed that too many people learn just enough to get by and then believe they don’t need to learn anything new afterwards. This eventually makes them obsolete in the field of engineering because of the rapid pace of technological changes that are constantly taking place in the sector.
MaurícioMendonça Godoy has been able to accomplish many great things during his lifetime, and one of these was the building of the EBR shipyard, which is located in São José do Norte. He likes to get a jump on his day by waking up early in the morning and usually starts out by looking over his to-do list. Godoy is able to get a lot done because he tackles the most important tasks before getting to anything else. He has learned the value of relying on many different people who are all a part of his working team and enjoys listening to their ideas and getting their perspective on the bigger picture of what is going on within his company.
MaurícioMendonça Godoy is constantly challenging team members to look for outside-of-the-box solutions, and he doesn’t mind dropping a business idea completely if it doesn’t appear to be well thought out. He feels that one of the keys to his success has been his willingness to let go of certain ideas, which gives him more time to focus on better ideas.
MaurícioMendonça Godoy studied at Harvard Business School where he finished a university extension course. He also attended Mackenzie Presbyterian University and received degrees in business administration as well as mechanical engineering while there. Before serving with Estaleiros do Brasil, he worked with Toyo Setal as its CEO.
