Dr. Rod Rohrich to Perform Surgery Live for Symposia

Dr. Rod Rohrich, plastic surgeon and professor at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center based out of Dallas, will be presenting and participating at 3 symposiums in the beginning of 2018; two of which he helped organize and chair. Throughout his career he has already chaired over 100 symposiums and participated in many more; his participation in these events will add to the over 1,500 presentations he has given about plastic surgery. He has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1987 with additional certification in hand surgery acquired in 1990 during his fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

While not organizing, Rohrich will be sharing his expertise at the Baker Gordon Educational Symposium. This year’s conference, held in Miama, Florida, will be the 52nd time this event has taken place. Dr. Rod Rohrich will be performing a primary open rhinoplasty live and participating in panels.

From February 28 to March 3, the Dallas Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine Meeting and Rhinoplasty Meetings will be taking place; he will be chairing and organizing both. The Medicine Meeting will discuss topics about many aspects of cosmetic surgery from state of the art laser techniques to ethical considerations and social topics. Both of these events will feature fresh cadaver labs to give hands on experience about the topics being presented. The Rhinoplasty Meeting is focused exclusively on Rhinoplasty, a surgery Dr. Rod Rohrich is known as an international expert of by many.

Dr. Rod Rohrich has served in many medical boards and organizations throughout his career including being president of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Currently he serves on the Association of Academic Chairmen of Plastic Surgery as president.

A graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine, he has published hundreds of articles and dozens of book chapters about plastic surgery. Dr. Rod Rohrich also is the editor-in-chief for the leading plastic surgery journal in the world, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Rod Rohrich is a North Dakota native who received his under and postgraduate degrees from his home state. He has been voted a Super Doctor in Texas and since 1993 has been listed in the Who’s Who in America. He participates in altruistic activities using his skills and time both professionally and on a civic level. He and his wife have two children
